Road Trip, The West, Karanga, Friday

Road Trip continue

1 am We arrive in Bath at Karanga's summer home Babylon. We wander in past head of security Steve [above] to find lots of low arches full of pumping house. And it's only £2 to get in!

1.43 am Music's great. Lots of breakdowns to get lost in. Good to be reminded that the best parties are often in small venues. Quite studenty thought, this lot are out celebrating their 'A' level results by the look of it

2.20am Meet Jams, the Karanga glass collector (left). He was on TV doing the mudslide at Glastonbury. "A bloke started crying because we threw him out after catching him pissing in the fire exit," he tell us. "I've also had to get my knob out several times." Before he can do it again, we head off for Bristol, to go to Thekla, a club on a boat

3.15am Finally reach Bristol. The great hull of the Thekla looms out of the water. Inside, it's dark, muggy, and full of junglists. Time for bed
