Biographie-De	Flugzeug, Zug oder Auto? Auf die eine oder andere Art ist John Aquaviva immer auf dem Sprung und unterwegs zum naechsten Club oder der naechsten Party. Obwohl er seit 1980 hauptberuflich deejayt, obwohl er bereits in ueber 600 internationalen Clubs gespielt hat und vor gut ueber einer halben Million Leuten aufgetreten ist, trotz alledem ist er nach wie vor staendig ausgebucht und gefragt wie nie zuvor. John gilt als einer der eklektischsten DJs in der Club- und Festivalszene, und er ist bekannt fuer seine riesige Plattensammlung, die ueber 40'000 Scheiben umfasst und die Clubmusik und 12"-Kultur bestens dokumentiert. Gerne schmuggelt John einen Klassiker oder einen alten Track in seine Sets. Er ist einer der wenigen DJs, die einen Raum zum Kochen bringen und der verschiedenen Szenen auf verschiedenen Ebenen etwas zu bieten vermag, was seine hohe Nachfrage erklaert. Mit der Gruendung des weltberuehmten Labels Plus 8 Records zusammen mit Richie Hawtin startete John 1989 seine internationale Karriere. John und Richie verfolgten nicht nur ihre eigenen Karrieren, sondern kuemmerten sich auch noch zusaetzlich um diejenige von Dan Bell (Trio Cybersonik), von Kenny Larkin und Speedy J, um nur einige zu nennen. Um Housesounds und Kuenstler wie z.B. Robotman, Barada und Omegaman zu pushen, gruendeten sie ein weiteres Label, Definitive Records. Obwohl John vor allem als DJ bekannt ist, war er in den Gruenderjahren auch als Engineer, Producer und Kuenstler aktiv und hat eine umfassende und beeindruckende Diskographie vorzuweisen. In den letzten Jahren hat sich die Club- und Partyszene veraendert. Immer mehr DJs der internationalen Clubszene lassen sich als Houseresidents verpflichten. John hat die Spitze dieses Trends angefuehrt und in den letzten zwei Jahren auf allen Kontinenten (ausser Afrika) aufgelegt. Monatlich ist er im "Florida 135" in Barcelona zu sehen und zu hoeren. Auf seinem Spielplan stehen auch regelmaessig, alle paar Monate mal, Clubs wie "Nikita and Spundaes" in San Francisco (USA), "Sona" in Montreal (Canada) und "Stammheim-ex-Aufschwung Ost" in Kassel (Deutschland). - Zusaetzlich zu diesen Performances versucht John auch auf Anfragen von anderen Clubs in Europa, Nordamerika und auf der ganzen Welt einzugehen. John hat eine eher stille, aber beeindruckende Produktion vorzuweisen. Zwei der hervorragendsten Releases der letzten Zeit sind zwei DJ Mix CDs. "From Saturday to Sunday Mix" ist seine bisher beste Club Mix CD und wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit seinem spanischen Hausclub "Florida 135" produziert. Zwei von Johns Sessions sind darauf festgehalten, was die CD somit zu einem hervorragenden Muster fuer seine Clubmix-Faehigkeiten und seinen Sound macht. Biographie-En	Planes, trains, and/ or automobiles ... One way or another John Acquaviva is always on the go and off to the next club or party. Despite having DJed full time since 1980, appearing at over 600 international clubs and events, having played for about half a million people, he is still as busy as ever and in demand like never before. Certainly one of the most eclectic DJs around at the club and festival level, John is well known for his vast record collection of over 40,000 pieces of vinyl. Spanning a rather significant period of club music and 12" culture, sometimes even still "dropping" a classic or old track along with the new. He is one of the very few DJs who can enhance a room as well as appeal to a number of different crowds on different levels which explains his high demand. John began his international career in 1989 with Richie Hawtin by founding the world renown Plus 8 Records. John and Richie not only launched their own careers but also those of Dan Bell as the trio Cybersonik, Kenny Larkin, and Speedy J to mention just a few of the artists. They have also founded Defintive records to feature house music and artists launching the likes of Robotman, Barada, Omegaman and others. Although noted mostly for his DJing, John was actively involved as engineer, producer and artist in the formative years and has compiled and extensive and impressive discography. The last few years has seen a number of changes to the club and party scene. Evolving as ever, the international scene has settled down with DJs taking on club residencies. John was at the forefront of this trend and over the last two years, not only has he played in every inhabited continent excluding Africa, but you can also find him monthly at Florida 135 in Barcelona Spain and the Twilo club in New York. Cities that regularly appear on Johns itinerary every two to three months are: San Francisco USA (Nikita and Spundaes ), Montreal Canada (Sona ), Essen Germany ( Tanzhaus-Ex Rote Liebe ), Duesseldorf Germany (Unique ). With this regular performance base, the rest of the time is spent trying to fill requests from clubs primarily from Europe and now in North America as well as all over the world. John has had a quiet but still excellent history for production work. The most notable release of late is a DJ mix CD. "From Saturday to Sunday mix" is his best mix CD to date and was done with the co-operation of Johns Spanish club where he is resident: Florida 135. It captures John over two sessions and is the best example of his mixing and DJ sound to date.
